Therapy for Anxiety in Detroit, MI
Stop bracing for the worst. Start trusting yourself to handle whatever comes your way.
The hard part isn't that your life is falling apart. It's that it mostly isn't—and yet you still feel like this.
You're not oblivious. You know, logically, that most of what you're thinking about probably isn't worthy of the sense of urgency you always feel. But somehow, knowing that doesn't make it stop. Your brain just worries, worries, worries—and you can't figure out how to turn it off. You get through the day, but it often feels like you’re forcing yourself to push through the exhaustion, and you’re not sure how much longer you can keep going like this.
You can't remember the last time you actually relaxed…or really what relaxing even feels like. Sometimes it eases up for a bit and you think maybe you've finally got a handle on it. Then something happens—or worse, nothing happens—and it comes back full force, leaving you wondering if you’ll just always be this way.
YOU MAY BE…
Lying awake at 2am, mind racing, unable to fall back asleep no matter how tired you are.
Doom scrolling on your phone to distract yourself, but only feeling worse for it in the end.
So consumed by everything bad happening in the world that it's hard to focus on much else.
Struggling to enjoy the good things—your own wins, the moments that should feel worth something—because worry has a way of overshadowing all of it.
HOW IT WORKS
Anxiety that keeps coming back is trying to tell you something. We’ll help you learn how to listen to it.
Anxiety isn’t the enemy, but an internal alarm that’s been trying to keep you safe. Instead of trying to silence it, we tune in and find out what it wants you to know. Often, when the same worries and patterns are showing up over and over again, it’s a sign that something deeper is going on. Those deep-seated emotions can’t be solved with coping skills alone, so we go beyond coping to actually heal the root of the issue.
We begin by talking about what you’re noticing in your daily life and how it’s affecting you. Then, we’ll build a plan around evidence-based methods that can help you feel more grounded, safe, and present in your life.
You’ll walk away with real skills for managing anxiety when it arises—tools that work in the middle of a spiral, not just when things are already calm. But beyond those practical skills, we’ll look at the patterns that have been feeding the anxiety. Ways of living that likely made sense at some point could be working against you now, and together we’ll start to shift them. Addressing those underlying factors makes the difference between just coping with anxiety and actually feeling better.
IMAGINE IF YOU…
Knew how to stop anxiety before it takes over.
You understand how your anxiety operates and what triggers it. You have the power to intervene before the spiral or the panic sets in. You know what to do when you feel it coming—and more often than not, you’re able to head it off before it takes over your day entirely.
Could actually relax and enjoy your life without constantly waiting for something to go wrong.
You’re sitting with the people you love and actually existing there in the moment. Watching something good happen in your life and letting yourself feel it instead of bracing for what that goodness might cost you. Having a good time without your brain pulling you into what-ifs or could-bes. You wake up rested because you’re able to fall and stay asleep with ease.
Felt less afraid all the time and more supported in the relationships around you.
Your mind gets quieter and you feel more present, more able to let people in—you start to feel supported in a way your anxiety never let you before. You feel less alone and, over time, less afraid.
LIFE DOESN’T HAVE TO FEEL THIS OVERWHELMING.
It’s time to worry
less and live more.
Reaching out is hard. We see you. We make the process of finding the right therapist as transparent and simple as possible—and we’re here to help however we can along the way.

Common questions about anxiety therapy.
-
Because not all therapy is the same—and for anxiety specifically, approach matters. If previous therapy helped you feel heard but didn't change how your anxiety operates, it's likely that the root cause wasn't fully addressed. Our approach goes beyond coping strategies to identify and treat what's causing the anxiety.

Venting can feel good in the moment but it doesn't change the patterns that are generating the anxiety in the first place. Therapy is active and directed. While we’re listening, we're also working with you to understand what's driving your experience and building a clear path forward. Sessions are focused, and progress is something we actively track and talk about.

Stress is usually tied to something specific like a deadline, a difficult situation, a season of life that's a lot to handle. It tends to ease when the situation does. Therapy can be helpful for stress as well, if it’s impacting your daily life in a way that feels unmanageable.
But anxiety tends to be more all-consuming. It has a way of latching onto whatever is available, moving from one worry to the next, and sticking around long after the original cause of stress is gone. If you find yourself constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, struggling to relax even when things are objectively okay, or noticing that the worry is starting to affect your sleep, your relationships, or your ability to enjoy your life, you may be experiencing anxiety.

How long the full process takes depends on what's underneath the anxiety. If it's mostly situational, progress can come relatively quickly. If there's trauma, long-standing patterns, or years of accumulated stress driving it, that work takes longer. What we can promise is that we track progress, talk about it openly, and never keep you in therapy longer than you need to be.

We don't rely on a single approach because anxiety doesn't work that way—and neither do people. Our therapists draw from a range of evidence-based methods including trauma-informed CBT, somatic approaches, and EMDR. We also integrate motivational interviewing, DBT, and skills-based approaches for clients who need concrete tools alongside the deeper work.
